Fredericksburg!

So, I'm not sure what to call our weekend getaway to Fredericksburg. The trip after you get married is called a honeymoon and the trip you take before the baby is born is called a baby-moon, so what is a trip called once the baby is here? I guess it's just a regular ol' vacation! And that's what we took a few weeks back.

We enjoyed a short visit to the hill country to rest and relax! We stayed at this fabulous cabin called "El Jefe" and by this picture, you would think Derek thought he was "El Jefe." We ate at the 3rd best Burger joint according to Texas Monthly, Alamo City Cafe. YUMMY! And then we watched the bats fly out for their evening meal. After that we enjoyed a fabulous wine bar, where we even tried apple wine from Poland - very sweet, but not something I would usually order. The next day we walked around downtown and then stopped off at Luckenbach for a few snapshots before enjoying the rest of the drive on the windy roads through the hill country. Ahhh, what a vacation!

Enjoying Luckenbach - or at least enjoying taking pictures in Luckenbach
